Looking for overnight relief from your persistent allergies? Well, allergy shots are not the answer. As this article explains, the typical allergy shot (immunotherapy) regimen lasts 3-5 years, and many people don't see results until the second year. Of course anything worthwhile takes some time and effort, and the rewards of allergy shots can be considerable, including lifelong protection from allergies. This page from the Mayo Clinic provides a very good introduction to just about everything you would want to know about allergy shots.

A very good article explaining the ins and outs of allergy shots. This article covers how allergy shots work, who would benefit from them, what type of schedule is used to administer the shots and possible side effects. Allergy shots aren't for everyone and for every allergy.
