The title of this article is incorrect ("Are yeast allergies real?"/Dubious "yeast allergies"). The article content makes no reference to yeast allergies as detected through appropriate IgE testing (an accepted and accurate method for allergy detection) by a board-certified allergist but rather relates mostly to issues of "yeast overgrowth" within the body--which is still a controversial and somewhat unsubstantiated condition. Furthermore, none of the literature referenced in the article is actually related to allergy detection but rather, yeast infection/overgrowth. This isn't entirely the fault of the author--there are plenty of people who seem to think the two "conditions" are the same thing (or related). Some think this "condition" (candidiasis hypersensitivity) causes a yeast allergy (again, another controversial, yet unproven claim). A more thorough review of the literature surrounding allergy detection/diagnosis would have added some needed clarity to the article
